THAI ELVIS
OK, so as I was stating the other night, because
my good buddy Matty H. is here from Richmond (for good, he loves this
place and Matty may get his own personalized updates here at www.hank).
Anyway I have been trying to show him a good time whenever possible and
our mutual co-buddy Kappy hits the bull's eye with:

Thai Elvis, a.k.a. Kavee Thongprecha,
who performs weekends only at The
Palms
Thai Restaurant
5273 Hollywood Blvd.
(323) 462-5073
We go, it is thursday night. the
place is bright and very crowded. Mixed crowd, many people know about
Thai Elvis, he is no secret. There is a certain tension in the air about
when he is going to come on and all. We wind up sitting at the counter,
which turns out to be a stroke of genius, because who is sitting next
to us, but...

My first glimpse of Thai Elvis

I am not sure what he was eating.
It looked like a cucumber and tomatoes salad, but the tomatoes may have
been raw sausage, because there was a raw sausage item on the menu.
We had some awesome chow, the LA
Times recently rated this place one of the top 75 restaurants in LA,
which ain't so bad when you combine it with Thai Elvis. I really can't
remember what we ate, but I do remember two things:
FROG
MENU
FROG WITH GARLIC 15.99
FROG WITH MINT LEAVES 15.99
FROG W/ PEPER CORNS W/ HOT SAUCE 15.99
|
The frog was lousy, (recommended
by the waitress) it was hard and chunky, very fishy tasting and got stuck
in my esophagus. But we finished the evening with an awesome Rad Na,
here is a glimpse.

Other than that, Thai Elvis worked
the room, sung magic and made me a true believer. Very cool thing to
do. Matty thought it was awesome, couldn't stop talking about it for
days.
