I spent July 4th in Maine. I was so excited to go to a real live July 4th parade in a remote, New Englandy part of the country and knew in my heart of hearts that it would be a parade I would remember forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was lame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have the photos to prove it.<\/p>\n\n\n

The place was Freeport, Maine, the home of LL Bean<\/a>!! The best part of the parade was the Bean Boot in front of the LL Bean flagship store open 24 hours, 7 days, 365 days a year. Too bad I did not set foot inside, and too bad this is as good as the parade got.<\/p>\n\n\n

Crazy vehicle honoring all kinds of stuff from the Korean War to the destruction of the Twin Towers.<\/p>\n\n\n

My personal favorite, the saddest GOP elephant in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n

They had that wave thing down better than any Maine teen USA ever, really!<\/p>\n\n\n

I just liked this shot, but the clown was really lame.<\/p>\n\n\n

Pretty much of the end of the parade was a really sad girl in the back of a non-descript convertible who clearly had not practiced the wave action nearly as much as the Maine Teen USA gals had.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is pretty much it. Maine is awsome adn I loved my visit adn I cannot wait to go back next year, but I think I might just have to skip the July 4th parade in Freeport.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
