Don’t Stop

I was one of the millions (billions?) of people who watched the last episode of “The Sopranos“, why? Not because I am a fan, I don’t even subscribe to HBO at the moment. It was merely because I was invited to a dinner party that entailed watching the episode, in complete silence.

I could say, ho hum, but that is not why I am posting. I am posting because I just love that song: “Don’t Stop Believen’“, don’t you? I mean it is a classic, right?

Well, I am not alone in my beliefs and today I noticed a piece in the New York Times that states:

The day after the last episode aired, downloads of the song on iTunes went from 1000 a day to 6,531.
Journey’s Greatest Hits marched into the top 20 on iTunes as well.
On the radio, ariplay of DSB increased 192 percent.
In 2005 DSB was featured on the season premiere of MTV’s “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County” (sounds awesome!), the song went in to the top ten on iTunes.
The song also enjoyed a 150 percent increase in downloads after it was featured on an episode of “The Family Guy” in 2005.
In 2003, before downloads were being tracked, DSB was featured on an episode of “Scrubs” as well and overall retail sales of Journey’s Great Hits increased 51 percent in the first week following the show.

So, if that is not enough to convince you that this is truly a legendary, one of a kind mega block-busting anthem to all things we must not stop believein’, then maybe this fan based film that has been kicking around in my “fun internet movies” for the last few years will do it. Thanks goodness I save EVERYTHING!

Who me? Well, Uh, I used to have a website (still do) that I love(d) and always wanted it to be pretty much a blog, even though blogs did not exist when I started the site. Like a daily newspaper of all things Hank is the way I always looked at it. So now, I crumbled and have a blog like the rest of humanity.
